Hi, welcome to Baptist Health Sciences University. I'm Kira Anderson, I'm the Respiratory Care Program Director. Our program is designed to help you to follow your calling. We're here to help you to become the best health care professional you desire to be. Our program is only one of three programs in the state of Tennessee that offer baccalaureate degrees in Respiratory Care. That's really important. That baccalaureate degree in Respiratory Care is gonna help you to be the best practitioner that you can be.
Our program is designed to teach you in the classroom, what you need to know to be able to work one by one with patients, doctors, nurses, other health care professionals, so that you can perform the skills that you need as a practicing respiratory therapist. Our program is designed to help you to learn how to work directly with doctors to manage diseases that patients may be affected by. We're there to help prepare you to work in ICU settings, where you prepare for any and every emergency. We're there to help you be prepared to work with physicians and helping to diagnose our patients. And so that means learning what type of illnesses our patients may be impacted by. We're there to help you be prepared.
In our program, you're going to learn what it means to be a professional respiratory therapist. Our program is designed so that you learn the skills the knowledge and attitudes that you need to be a practicing professional air fulfill your calling as a respiratory therapist. Our program is designed so that you in the classroom setting are introduced to skills, knowledge concepts about the professional Respiratory Care. Our laboratory sessions are designed to give you instruction in providing that care. And then we take into a clinical practice setting, where you're going to be prepared to work one-on-one with patients, their doctors, their nurses, all in design, to help you to be the therapist that you will call to be.
